    Welcome to here

    My name is Michael Shelton,
    I am a Los Angeles based Visual Effects Supervisor/Second Unit Director.

    Welcome to my website, it’s been 30 plus years in the making and my first attempt to catalogue and display this collection of “stuff” I somehow got myself involved in. I hope you find it interesting, and possibly even useful in your own journey.

    Filmmaking
    This all began with me growing up with Ray Harryhausen movies and an 8mm camera I got when I was a kid. My film school consisted of Saturday morning Creature Features at the theater, and then running home to make my own version which usually resulted in the untimely end to a fair number of toys. I have been making imagery ever since. And not to get all mushy, but this website is kind of a nod to that kid because I owe it all to him.

    Visual Effects Supervision
    Visual Effects Supervision requires both an artistic and managerial hand to guide a project to completion. Being in the trenches while also keeping the overall view from 10 thousand feet is crucial. Collaborating with the team as a whole while providing support to artists individual needs is bedrock of my show management approach. A team that is supported and respected can achieve anything.
    Content Creation
    World Ending Destruction, cute furry creatures and everything in between. I've got a big box of crayons ready to go!
    Visual Development
    Simply put, what does it look like. From Conceptual design exploration through pre, and tech visualization, this is where we figure out where the guardrails are.
